At the end of the course, participants should be able to cruise safely in familiar waters as both skipper and crew of a sloop rigged keelboat of 6 to 10 meters (22’ to 33’) in moderate wind and sea conditions by day.
This course meets the following Québec Sailing federation and Sail Canada Standards:
The Basic Cruising Standard allows you to rent a keelboat (live a board Sailboat) of 10 meters (33’) or less, by day with certain institutions.

Included in the course cost: Voile Mercator kit, onboard lodging, instruction, safety equipment, fuel, written test, logbook and certification stamps.
Not included in the course cost: course manual, onboard expenses (food, marina fees other than the boarding and landing days). You will need approximately a day for these expenses as well as other personnel expenses. 15% sales tax not included.
